answers1: Genealogy is the study of one's ancestry, not necessarily
the chart you can make.
answers2: Trees and/or charts depending on how you use the terms, are
tools used to visually display names and possibly some basic facts
related to a family. Most trees only show an individual and several
generations of their direct ancestors, which is why many genealogists
prefer to use reports that can include far more data, including
siblings, adoptions, steps, etc. Some people go more of a family
history route, augmenting their reports with multimedia - photos, news
clippings, video or sound clips, etc. that show more of their
ancestors lives.
answers3: familysearch.org is a free site.
Simply register and follow the easy instructions for creating your
family tree.
They have free charts, which you can print, for paper copies of your
research.
You will need a blank, formatted CD, to store your research on, as
familysearch.com does not store your tree on-line.

There are too many different types of charts to draw one of each here.
I prefer the lateral ancestral chart, and occassionally, the
descending outline tree, depending on the amount of info I need to
record and the purpose of the tree.

Find one that works for you and enjoy "filling in the blanks ".

answers4: Get a large sheet of paper and put your name and any sibling
across the bottom.
Draw a line up from yourself to your parents, say, your name is Fred
Smith.
31Jan1995
St.Georges, London
John Smith = Jane Jones
b. ? [ b. ?
where ? [ where ?
Fred Smith
b. 01Jan1996
Hammersmith, London

Repeat this upwards for each of your parents so that you can display
your grandparents' details.
You can add other info, such as date and place of baptisms, jobs,
dates of death, where buried, if there a Memorial Inscription, etc.
Unfortunately, I can't display this accurately, your line should go to
the plus sign.
Ask relatives for details about the family while you still have them
to pass on the information.
answers5: The family tree chart is easy. You should be able to
download one for free on line. It is self explanatory. Yes the family
tree and genealogy is your ancestors.
answers6: Genealogy is the study of ones family history. There is far
more to genealogy than charts I'm afraid.
Hope this helps.
