Armando Somes: find a friend to share a boat withorrun the numbers and see if it makes sense to buy a used one planning all the while to dump it in a couple yearsif you rent a boat, you need to pay insurance, and that is going to cover the lessors a$$ pretty well if you are going to own a boat, or even if you are going to rent it, be sure to take a coast guard boating safety course - when you get insurance you'll get a discount.if you are dead set on renting, there are places that rent BARE BONES boats by the week for around $600. That's probably going to work out to a lease value for the summer of around $3500 that is just...GONE. Most of these folks are condo dwellers, and have no place to keep a boat when not in use. That said, a seasonal rental may be a little pricey. As an example, the marina down the lake from me rents a Nautique 211 crossover (ski/wakeboard boat) for $2800 per week. So, for a 1 month rental, you could buy a pretty decent used boat!...Show more
