How to entertain a 10 and 13 year old in a small town?

Mildred Pombo: Bowling, cinema, arcade, a kick around in the park.

Darnell Cutliff: bowling and movies are good options. An indoor swimming pool. such as at your local YMCA, is another good possibility. If you stay at home there are plenty of classic games you can play. Tag, Hide and Seek, Kick the Can, dodge ball etc etc are all good option. If you have a park nearby you can all walk to the park to play as well. I find all kids love water sports, so getting out a couple of water guns is an easy way to ensure kids have fun.Video games are always a good option as well. Wii is probably the best option for easily picked up kids games, but an Xbox or Playstation with the appropriate game that all three of you can play could be entertaining. You can also get movies to watch at home. Your local library should have plenty of movies avilible at no cost. You can even view a movie online from Hulu.com. I personally recommend "the secret of nimh" on hulu, it's Don Boot! hs masterpiece and a sadly unknown classic.board games could be a good option, but that depends on the ability of the kids to sit still long enough to play them. Similar argument goes towards card games. And finally, ask the kids. Kids know what they like, they may very well have ideas of what they want to do without your trying to structure the event. They may want to go off and play by themselves without your even being present....Show more
