Cristopher Gavalis: Are you planning on returning to the college were you had earned your psychology bachelors degree? If you decide to return to the college where you had been previously for your bachelors degree, then that would be a good place to ask the staff about what you can do. Your college admissions office could figure out what you need to complete your degree in special education. Some credits transfer over to the next school you attend. This is a busy time of year for most colleges, so if you want to wait until "winter break" to contact the business offices or other staff members then wait until after the New Years. I think you need to have so many credentials before you can become a teacher, before specializing in special education. You can earn an associates degree in teaching, and if you to build on that you can. My sister has an associates degree in nursing, but she is going back to college for her bachelors degree in nursing. If you can't g! et into a teaching program, start with the associates degree in teaching 1st. At least you know if education is the field for you. You will most likely do internships to become a teacher anyways, and you can always intern in special education to get the feel for things....Show more
