global warming??

Lyndon Mattas: Adapting to new environmental and climatic conditions. That or you migrate or die.

Geraldo Mccalla:

Ollie Desalvo: If you want to acquire furnish cash for local weather study, do you suppose that you can get a cheque when you say," I want the furnish, as I suppose that I can end up that the figures that the present paradigm is situated upon are improper" ? The exceptional environmentalist, David Bellamy, has been silenced, and refused airtime. There remains to be no validated causative hyperlink among the volume of Co2 within the surroundings, and an broaden in international temperatures. The WWWF pictures of the polar bears swimming have been taken within the Arctic summer season; while the ice cap partly melts, as they could not rise up to snapshot within the iciness. The ice used to be too thick! The East-Anglian uni study figures. "Oh! The figures do not fit our expectancies. Oh good. Keep quiet. Because we all know that we're correct." Wh! en the notion, and the religion is extra fundamental than squarely dealing with the reliable doubts of plenty of non furnish-supported scientists, technology has been superceded via devout zealots. As Oliver Cromwell colourfully stated." I pray thee, within the bowels of Christ, don't forget that thou mayest be improper."...Show more

Donovan Stallons: the parts that haven't been strip mined yet.

Francisco Schonhardt: Some animals in danger due to global warming....Polar bears...seals....birds ... insects... fish ... photoplanketon (although photoplankton itself is not an animal it has a significant value to all animals) ... just to name a slight few are effected negatively by global warming. Other effects of global warming are;1.melting of glaciers which increases the sea level which causes flooding of low lying land2. increased amount of liquid water (vs. solid such as ice) escapes more readily into the atmosphere and causes more rain (more flooding) and more ! volitile storms (strong hurricanes = greater damage to man mad! e environments and displacement of people at the same time flooding a man made environment has serious negative side effects such as the sewer systems being flooded which spread pollutants and human waste! Remember how disgusting and polluted the water in the streets of Louisianna was after Katrina? Eww!).3. increase in temperature in the Earth's oceans kills off photoplankton life that converts carbon dioxide into oxygen. Thus reducing the amount of oxygen rich atmosphere (what we as humans NEED to survive). Not to mention that many life forms in the ocean rely on the photoplankton as a source of food which = starvation of fish = reduced marine life = reduced food supply = reduced supply = colaspe of industries that rely on them = lost jobs = lost income = economic repercussions = reduced quality of life and possible displacement of families dependent on that industry = strain on economic systems = reduced production = loss of profit = reduced taxable income = reduced fund! s to provide financial assistance = poverty = lowered expectations of life = loss of morals = creation of more forms of corruption = more crime = more pain and suffering to be felt through out civilization. And that's just ONE of many aspects of the effects on the oceanic environment. Which will greatly effect all other forms of life including man. This shows the consequence of the changing global climate at the most fundamental level. Scientists estimate that phytoplankton is responsible for about half of Earth's photosynthesis, a process that removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and converts it into organic carbon and oxygen that feeds nearly every ocean ecosystem. Fewer phytoplankton consume less carbon dioxide, aggravating a cycle that can lead to even more warming. Over the past decades, California scientists have linked declining plankton numbers to El Niños and other warm-water years in the Pacific Ocean, which set off a domino effect of fewer krill and young! fish and eventually failed reproduction of seabirds and even deaths of! seals and sea lions....Show more

Ruthe Real: Accepting our mistakes and moving on. Now days, it seems that people want to pin mistakes that are made by all of us on one person, be it the President, Prime Minister, what ever. We need to accept that we are all accountable/ responsible for climate change. If we want to do something about this, we need to stop bickering and begin changing our habits. For example, turning off one traditional lightbulb will prevent 50 million tons of carbon from getting into the atmo. Further more, if the average American family were to replace all their appliances and electronics with energy efficient ones, it would be like planting 200 million acres of forest. There are 300 million people in the US. Think about what that would do. Another thing that we need to do is develop alternative energy sources. Nuclear is really the only option right now because solar is expensive and is not reliable. Wind is impractical right now because to power! a city the size of New York, youd need a wind farm the size of Michigan to power it reliably and cheaply. Nuclear has really come a long way since the 80's (The last time one was built in the US) The new ones can use the old nuclear waste as fuel, so we could produce energy the traditional way in addition to reducing our nulcear stockpile. And really they have become more safe thanks to computer systems. For example, I live in Michigan, and one of our nuke plants shut down because a non essential pump was leaking and was put back online 5 days later with out incident. And I dont think that Hydrogen is going to be the end all be all savior. I belive that we will need to rely on a combo of hydrogen, bio fuel, and ethanol to kick the carbon habit. For example, it took Brazil 20 years to ween itself off gasoline and switch to ethanol. The biggest hurdle of climate change isnt going to be getting the science to work, its the human factor. Are we willing to accept that we all ar! e responsible? I know I am. And then its going to be changing our habit! s. I mean we have nearly 50 years of conditioning into this. Are we willing to change? Because make no mistake, the science is there, the science is telling us that this is very real. The science is also telling us that we can get through this. Yes, it will cost money, but down the road, isnt it going to cost more if we just sit around a bury our heads? I believe that we all need to stop bickering about who did what and get down to doing something. We need to tell our governments that this is real, and if you arent going to do something about it then we will vote you out. "People shouldnt be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people" We need to tell them that the people are the ones who hold the power. What we need to do is stand united and begin solving this. We are the dominant species on this planet and it is our duty to safe guard the species that cannot speak. Are we willing to do this? I know I am....Show more

Kaley Lappas: GLOBAL! WARMING IS A MYTH!

Jed Mutone: most ecosystems will fail if global warming continues (says the lastest scientific meeting)polarbears have resorted to cannibalism, an act they haven't done before, as far as scientific records gowe are more likely to have natural disasters, the warmer oceans cause more hurricanes (like Katrina)if it continues, many areas will be uninhabitable (says lastest scintific meeting)the ocean levels will likely rise twenty feet, putting the netherlands, twin towers' memorial, and many other places under watertry stopglabalwarming.org, and enviromental defense for more info...Show more

Toshiko Reimers: They are definitely to be found in the biomass. The soil usually has rather low nutrient levels since these are immediately reycled into new production.

Jana Sakasegawa: Of course the worst offenders should be responsible for the cleanup. Will it happen in our lifetime? I doubt it. The government is still fighting with the companies to! clean the air up, and this date has been moved up to 2010.I guarantee ! you one thing, the cost will be transferred to the consumer in the way of higher gas prices. Congress needs to get of their a.s.s.e.s and pass a bill for the American auto makers to stop making gas guzzleing autos....Show more

Blythe Noreiga: Yeah who?....I think everyone at the end of the day, should pay the main consequences of the global warning since everyone really involved to create and worsen the global warming recently. Winter now seems and feels like spring... is that natural? Cars and industrial zones definitely should be reduced asap.

Jed Porada: They say that the soil will most likely be acidic and stripped of nutrients due to the multitude of plant life harvesting nutrients from it. So the soil will not likely harbor a lot pf nutrients. The canopy however will harbor more nutrients (fruit, sprouting leaves, nectar from flowers...) I bet that the camopy will be the most nutritive part of Rain Forests.

Antonia Quinnett: All life forms on earth ! are in danger because of global warming. The polar cap will also melt and the whole world will be flooded...

Susan Rambo: This is the debate in Congress right now. Scientists of the world have united and overwhelmingly stated that they are 90% certain that human activity is contributing to global warming and if we don't act NOW, we will suffer catastrophic consequences. I would say that the industries who have profitted, and I mean PROFITTED from the emission of green house gases should be the first ones tapped to start paying for the clean up! For example, Exxon Mobile just recorded the largest single quarter profit ever recorded by any company in the history of the world, last quarter. And that profit came directly from OUR wallets. So if they are asked to pay, essentially, everyone is paying......Show more

Foster Padge! tte: It's difficult instances certainly and might be very fascinating if men and women simply get used to that we fairly do not have any possible choices however to discover a strategy to cooperate and repair those disorders. It's honestly now not practically local weather difference, however think having unfastened entry to limitless quantities of renewable vigor with nearly no fee as soon as it is in situation! Others have mentioned that each and every new release has had its problems and that is real. But no new release till this has lived in a real globalized global. If civilizations earlier than ran out of critical assets or polluted their vicinity, their populace died they usually in which in no function to vary the exact stipulations at the complete globe. Now we see transparent indicators of the way our globe is in unhealthy form and the way our assets and margins shrinks daily. Still, a few men and women wish to retain on like a big swarm of grasshoppers till there! may be not anything left for anybody. It's now not neighborhood anymore and there are not any possible choices however to cooperate globally. Wise phrases by means of Gandhi: "Nature has given us ample for everybody’s want, however now not for everybody’s greed."...Show more

Bethanie Menden: Sure, the industriies who have profitted SHOULD pay, but I can guarantee they won't pay a dime, other than to cover their own public image. It's up to our government (and other world governments) to set policies that encouage companies and people to make responsible environmental decisions. Variance from certain allowed standards would cost them money, which could be funnelled into research.More money should be allowed for alternative fuel research, grants for technologies to make cars run cleaner, grants for further solar power research etc. I suppose the government could require oil companies or car companies to come up with alternative fuel choices. However they also nee! d to incentivize the american population by providing better tax breaks! , etc for using alternative fuel vehicles or other C02 saving measures. Not to bring up another controversial topic, but if you think about it, the #1 thing you can do to reduce C02 emissions is have less kids....Show more

Jimmie Doerfler: In truth they do not know exactly what causes global warming. In addition they don't even know if global warming actually exists. Read the book State of Fear by Michael Crighton, he makes some very good points about global warming. We are so quick to come up with a term global warming when one city experiences a warming trend or when one area has less precipitation. Scientifically there is just as much data to show how some cities around the world are actually cooling rather than warming up. A city can actually be made much warmer just be the addition of parking lots or buildings, not necessarily CO2 increases. In addition cars output way less CO2 than large building and even homes heated by gas. We need to really carefully analyze o! ur world before we jump to accuse blame....Show more

Malcom Fenoff: Global warming exists. It is also happening on Mars. We know this from observing the poles of Mars. Despite all the talk about carbon dioxide being the culprit to global warming, the increase of xray emissions from the Sun's hot spots is truly the cause. A little perspective on green hous gasses:The air's compostition is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other. Within the 1 % of other, green house gases reside.95% of all green house gasses is water vapor, (there is no data on water vapor effect on global warming) out of the remaining 5% carbon dioxide hangs out.The oceans of the world 66% of the surface holds the lion's shared of stored CO2. Temperature rise releases more CO2, temperatue fall absorbs more CO2.Mother nature belches through her volcanoes the same amount of green house gasses as all man-made CO2 emmissions. We have been in a 25 years warming cycle. It is far below the one during the Middle ! Ages in which Leaf Erickson was able to grow crops in Greenland. There a! re those who believe humans are at the center of power on this planet. This is foolishness. If Earth has a long warming period, countries' borders will be altered. The rain fall will shift in latitudes and dry areas will worsen. People will migrate to better areas and political tension will tighten. People will suffer and die.Be aware that NOT bringing coal power electrical plants to Africa will hasten greater human suffering. The technology is being used today to pull water vapor out of the atmoshere and making it into drinking water. US Army is utilizing this now.For Former Vice President Al Gore, I would say build very large plugs and to seal up the world's volcanoes! This would be more beneficial than the socialist propaganda he spews, while he jets around on private jets! The BBC has a documentary video to consider that you can view on google video. It is entitled: The Great Global Warming Swindel. I know this has been long winded, however the drums are beating and the ! truth needs a better publicist. The science community is a very independant bunch. There is no goose stepping to this issue. Alberto Kozub: effects of global warming, oceans getting warmer, different animals are being born with double legs or heads, more wild fires, more deadly tornadoes, more deadly hurricanes all this is because of global warming

Jacques Vaquera: Not much are affect. Global warming will occur slowly and animals can adapt to the changes. In the past, animals survived the holocene maximum and medieval warm era where temperatures were way higher than today at a a very long period of time. Thus animals are not really in danger.

Bruce Calise: The industries should pay.

Samara Siewers: Well, it definitely isn't the water supply. I would think it would be in the leaf or ground cover.

Lulu Bukowiecki: The world is undoubtedly warming. ! This warming is largely the result of emissions of carbon dioxide and o! ther greenhouse gases from human activities including industrial processes, fossil fuel combustion, and changes in land use, such as deforestation. Continuation of historical trends of greenhouse gas emissions will result in additional warming over the 21st century, with current projections of a global increase of 2.5ºF to 10.4ºF by 2100, with warming in the U.S. expected to be even higher. This warming will have real consequences for the United States and the world, for with that warming will also come additional sea-level rise that will gradually inundate coastal areas, changes in precipitation patterns, increased risk of droughts and floods, threats to biodiversity, and a number of potential challenges for public health. Addressing climate change is no simple task. To protect ourselves, our economy, and our land from the adverse effects of climate change, we must ultimately dramatically reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases...Show more
