Is New Your City as wonderful as it's portrayed in Movies and Television?

Alecia Kaehler: New York is a GREAT city, probably the best major city in the USA. There is SO much to do here, you can NEVER be bored. And no, it is NOT ghetto at all. So if some idiot tells you you are going to get mugged, dont listen. It is also probably the safest major city. And it is magical! The lights in times square during christmas, and the big christmas tree in Rockefeller Centre. Also, shopping on fifth avenue, and celebrities on the Upper East Side. Walks in Central Park, eating Pizza, Bagels, and pastries! You can't get enough of it. It truly is a great place to be:)...Show more

Randolph Lozoya: It's wonderful, but not for any of the (mostly inaccurate) ways that it is portrayed in movies and television. It has plenty to offer without all the fantasy and exaggerations.

Joie Libutti: I live in Upstate New York, and I seriously cannot stand it. Never been to the city though.

Collin Barter: I love living here, but it's not like on tv or in th! e movies.

Soraya Coodey: To the average everyday person, New York is nothing like it's portrayed to be. I watch movies and shows that take place in New York and I'm astounded how nice it looks in the background.Truth is, if you've got money, it WILL be like those movies and shows, absolutely. But the majority of us live in crummy walkups, have to deal with rats bedbugs and cockroaches, incessant noise and chaos, and EXPENSIVE EVERYTHING. New York is one of the most beautiful cities though, in all its grit there is some history and culture to it, and some neighborhoods are drop dead gorgeous. Plus the empire state building, chrystler building, statue of liberty, brooklyn bridge, unisphere, there beautiful enough to make us forget about the dirt....Show more

Pasquale Pollet: Better. And the more money you have, the better it is.
